BRANCHES OF BOND
A song to fill your ears whilst reading - Wash - Bon Iver
The grass lay vividly green while a beautiful tree stood proud and strong,
Its leaves protected the four branches that emerged from its trunk while the wind whistled softly a prayer filled song
The sun did not strike the tree, it struck the sun, its beauty magnificent,
Here and there it was chipped, it was scarred and it was bent
Yet these hurtful sores added to the exquisiteness of the tree,
Things loved to surround it and bask in its warmth, they did not flee
When the winter came, the harsh wind made it unsteady,
As raindrop tears trickled down it at the ready
When autumn came, the tree was afraid,
As the leaves could no longer protect its branches that laid
Then when spring emerged, the leaves grew back and transformed into radiant flowers,
And the shy sun hid between angelic clouds creating flickered light filled showers
When the clouds floated away and the sun returned, it made the tree see light,
Showing it that no matter how cold, gloomy or frightened it became, there were four branches that helped overcome its plight
It stood together with its four loyal branches and its surroundings forever,
And in the end, this was all it needed to create a joyful and content endeavour.
